Hello, my name is Angelique and I am here to ask you a question. . . . "What did you do last summer?" If you ask the average teenager or college student what they did last summer, they may tell that they went on vacation, hit the beach everyday, enjoyed their local amusement parks, and spent time with their family. But how many people, especially teenagers, would say to you . . . "I saved a baby's life this summer!" Not many? Well I think its time to change that. You may be saying, "Listen, I have a lot to do this summer. My schedule is already packed. I have places to go, and people to see. I must work!" But in the end are these really just excuses? Are we ever willing to truly sacrifice for God or must we always schedule it at our convenience? Let me share a very personal story that may put this into perspective for you. On December 20th, 1991, my birthmother was going to abort me in her eighth month of pregnancy, due to my gender. But a sidewalk counselor who was standing outside the abortion clinic caught my mom just before she walked in and decided to take time out of her busy schedule and try to save my life. She spent 2 hours trying to talk my mom out of killing me. My mom said "Lady, you don't understand my situation. I HAVE TO KILL THIS BABY! I don't have a choice." She felt compelled by her Indian culture not to bring another little girl into this world. To make a long story short, after getting on her knees in the middle of a public sidewalk, the sidewalk counselor finally talked my mom out of the abortion and into adoption. Thirty four days later, on January 22nd 1992, I was born! On the anniversary of the Landmark court decision that made it legal to kill me when I was in my mothers womb - I was born! Because someone obeyed God and rescued me. My story illustrates how someone who takes time out of their busy lives to intervene on behalf of the pre-born can change history. That sidewalk counselor saved my life. Now I know it is very easy for people, including myself, to think "But I need to take care of me. What about my time?".....I'm doing a ton already!" All I can say is.....If the sidewalk counselor that saved my life had said "I've been here long enough, I don't have time for this" and left, you would not be reading this letter right now. That thought is why I've decided that I will be spending this summer at Survivors Pro-life Training Camp, just like I have for the past four years. So that I may be trained and equipped to proficiently defend the lives of the innocent not just for the summer but for the rest of my life. And you have the chance to join me, to "Take the Challenge!" I was saved because someone decided that my life was worth fighting for! Join me in my decision to come to Survivor Camp and fight for the lives of the innocent! To be a voice for the Voiceless! So when someone comes up to you and asks "what did you did this summer?" What is your answer going to be? Are you going to "Take the Challenge?" It is not enough to be pro-life. If you believe abortion is murder then act like it. Do something meaningful this summer. . .
