THE
CATHOLIC CHURCH AND CHINA
CHINA
EXPERT STEVEN MOSHER
RETURNS TO ST. EUGENE'S
In 1979, Steven was the first American social scientist to visit
Mainland China. Mr. Mosher was a pro-choice atheist at the time, but
witnessing traumatic abortions in China led him to reconsider his
convictions and to eventually become a practicing, pro-life Roman
Catholic.
In May 2001, Steven spoke to a large group in the Brinker Room
at St. Eugene's. We are pleased to welcome him back and to hear him
report on his recent visit to the Middle Kingdom, China. He will speak
about the growth of the Catholic Church in China, and the problems that
believers have with the Chinese government, the one-child policy, and
the practice of their faith.
Copies of Mr. Mosher's new book, "Population Control: Real
Costs and Illusory Benefits," will be available for purchase and
signing.
