Pro-Life Victory Affirmed License Plates Approved! Today, the Arizona License Plate Commission voted 7-0 to approve the Choose Life license plates for Arizona. Now, just a few administrative steps remain before you can order a plate and put one on your car! The Arizona Department of Transportation began those administrative steps today, so hopefully the Arizona Life Coalition, the sponsoring organization for the plates, will begin accepting license plate applications within the next month. On a personal note, its been six years since Gary McCaleb, Gary Paisley, Peter Gentala, and I attended this same Commissions hearing at which they denied the Choose Life plates. That wrong decision led to six years of litigation going all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The License Plate Commissions vote today complies with a court order upholding the principle that life-affirming expression is constitutionally protected just like any other speech. Join me today in having a thankful heart for a monumental pro-life victory one that will spread a positive, life-affirming message on license plates throughout our state and at the same time provide needed funding to help mothers facing crisis pregnancies choose life for their preborn children.
