Thanksgiving Blessings to the Sacramento Prolife Community and our friends across the nation!  We just received news from National Director, David Bereit, that due to your prayers, fasting, and participation in peaceful vigils outside abortion centers nationwide, 614 babies were saved from abortion during this past fall "40 Days", several of which were right here in Sacramento!  Thanks and praise be to God!  We are eager to continue serving Him!  Therefore, we are already planning our next "40 Days for Life", February 25th-April 5th, 2009!

NEXT MEETING
Directions to Leatherby's Monday, December 1st 11:00am
Everyone is invited to our next meeting, this coming Monday, December 1st, at 11:00 am, at Leatherby's Creamery, 2333 Arden Way, Sacramento.  This meeting will focus on Outreach and Education plans to raise awareness of what this "choice" really is, while also inviting the Sacramento community to join us in prayer and fasting next spring.

Please email Assistant Director, Louise Maestretti, if you are able to attend, so that we can make restaurant arrangements and have ample copies prepared.

Here are some ideas we will discuss.  Your thoughts, suggestions, and assistance are always welcomed!
CULTURE OF LIFE INTER-FAITH COUNCIL
  United For Life
As the "40 Days" mission is "to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity" for conversion of our nation and an end to abortion, we are inviting prolife Priests, Deacons, Clergy, Sisters, Protestant Pastors and Elders, Knights of Columbus leaders, Mormons and Seventh Day Adventists who worked hard on Prop 8 passage, representatives from various ethnic Christian churches such as the Korean Catholics who will be going on a bus to the Walk for Life for the first time, the Eastern Orthodox Church, African American Pastors, Russian Christians, Spanish speaking Christians, even our Jewish brothers and sisters, to all join together, UNITED for the Sanctity of Life, no longer divided by denomination, language barriers, or political party.   Members of this council would lend their endorsement/support to "40 Days" and give administrative guidance to the leadership as we plan our upcoming vigil in hopes of graciously inviting all of God's children to participate in the Sidewalk Ministry, helping  women choose LIFE for their unborn child.  Nominations for this Council are welcomed and appreciated; so please bring names and contact information to Monday's meeting.
OUTREACH AND INVITATION PLANS
  Inviting Sacramento to Join us
Over 25 buses from Sacramento will attend the West Coast Walk for Life on Saturday, January 24th.  Therefore, we need to have a "40 Days" spokesperson on each of these buses to invite participants to join us in prayer at the sidewalks in front of abortion facilities here in our community.   Just think if each bus has 50 people, times 25 buses, we could easily invite 1,250 prolife people to the sidewalk!  We are also planning to contact hundreds of churches in January/February, sharing prolife information and inviting them to join the "40 Days".  Some people are interested in walking door-to-door in neighborhoods near the abortion facilities to raise awareness, others plan to have life-affirming educational displays in local malls, etc, so please come to Monday's meeting if you would like to be a part of creating a Culture of Life here in Sacramento, "365 Days for Life".

HOW YOU CAN HELP
 Donations Greatly Appreciated
We will soon need $197 for "40 Days" registration and incur copying expenses for our flyers and educational material. This email goes out to over 1,500 prolife supporters, mostly in the Sacramento area, but some across the nation.  Rather than try to squeeze in a fundraising event this busy time of year, if even 100 people donated $10 each, which seems like a small token of "Thanks" for the many blessings we have all received, we would have enough money to fund our entire Lenten vigil.  Pastor Stoos, who freely provides our "Before You Choose" informative brochures,  has graciously offered to serve as our Treasurer again, offering his Cherish California's Children organization for tax-exempt purposes.  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, if you would like to support the "40 Days for Life" with even a small donation, checks can be made payable to:

Cherish California's Children, Inc.
4246 2nd Avenue
Sacramento, CA  95817-2119

Please include "40 Days for Life" on the memo-line of your check donation. We THANK YOU very much for your prayers and support!

Sacramento Life Center Mobile Counseling Center
At the recent Life Center Dinner, Director Colleen Branagan announced their vision to someday have a mobile RV unit which would bring counseling staff, gracious hospitality, and an ultrasound machine right to the sidewalks of our community, including parking near the abortion facilities, college campuses, and community events.  Can you imagine the impact this wonderful blessing would have for LIFE?!?   The cost of this mobile RV unit, including the purchase, maintenance, staffing, and operation, is at least $90,000.  I spoke to Colleen this morning and they have already been blessed with $60,000 of this needed funding; so 2/3 of the money has been raised, but more is needed.  If you are interested in bringing this dream to a reality, please contact the Sacramento Life Center at (916) 451-4357, email and website
With so much to be thankful for today, Thanksgiving Blessings to you and your family!  Hope to see many of you at our "40 Days for Life" Planning Meeting this coming Monday, December 1st, at 11:00 at Leatherby's, 2333 Arden Way, Sacramento.

PRAISE GOD FOR ALL OF THE BLESSINGS HE HAS GRANTED ALL OF US THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR.
